OVERVIEW

Only 49% of young voters are committed to voting in the next Presidential election, largely due to a belief that their vote won’t make a difference and a lack of faith in political parties. While some seek change, there is a need to empower and motivate this group to actively engage in the election process.

In the lead-up to the 2024 election, two major nonpartisan organizations - I am Voter and HeadCount teamed up with MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” and The Rockefeller Foundation to launch the inaugural Democracy Heros list.

This initiative recognized civic leaders making a real impact in their communities, highlighting their contributions to strengthening Democracy.
